<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\nThe North Central Plan is\u00a0a\u00a0community-led\u00a0<\/span>visioning and strategic planning process\u00a0which will be completed in Spring 2021. The process,\u00a0and thus the final plan,\u00a0will be based on extensive community engagement.\u00a0The final plan will be called the North Central\u00a0Plan.\u00a0It will include:\u00a0a\u00a0Statement of Core Values and Community Vision;\u00a0plan goals;\u00a0and\u00a0identified projects, programs and actions. A separate implementation plan will also be developed.<\/span><\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
The foundation of the planning process will be an asset-based approach. The key asset is the members of the community \u2013 the people. Other assets include: schools; churches; all the institutions within the Grand Center Arts District; medical facilities such as the Veterans Administration Hospital; and social and human support organizations. The community will first focus on its strengths and opportunities to create a shared vision for the future that includes their aspirations and will show results.<\/span><\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
The North Central Plan will be submitted to the City of St. Louis for adoption in 2021 for final adoption. When adopted, the community will engage in direct implementation planning and process.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
\nPlanning Area<\/h3>\n
\nThe boundaries of the planning area run east on Dr. Martin Luther King Drive toward Compton Avenue from North Newstead Avenue. At North Compton Avenue and Dr. Martin Luther King Drive it travels south on Compton to Olive Street. The southern boundary of the area runs west on Lindell Boulevard from Olive Street to Vandeventer Avenue, north to Delmar Avenue. Heading west on Delmar Avenue to North Newstead Avenue, the edge of the border turns north to Martin Luther King Drive.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Consulting Team<\/strong><\/p>\n
\nH3 Studio<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a>, which is a St. Louis interdisciplinary design, research and planning firm,\u00a0has been hired as the consulting firm for the North Central Plan.\u00a0The firm\u00a0will be responsible for turning the community\u2019s vision into a plan that can be implemented.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
